The Stanley Tool Company

This public art sculpture project connects the history of New Britain as the home of the Stanley Tool Company with an informal campus seating area at Central Connecticut State University. The assemblies of bronze castings and teak offer casual seating within a formal sculpture. The seats also feature LED lighting to give them a presence day and night.

Making New Connections

The seats celebrates the act of learning by bringing together diverse objects and tools into whimsically designed seats.  Like these seats, being a student is about seeing things differently and making new connections, sometimes surprising, sometimes strange, but always fresh.
