Windows on the Floating World
Windows on the Floating World will be a world of moving water, above and below the surface, the level constantly changing with rain and drought. We hope visitors are inspired to incorporate the wonders found here into their own wetland gardens. This place will be a fusion of public art and landscape architecture. The Window Walks and Water’s Edge, offer ways to view and connect to this water world. Windows on the Floating World will be an immersive installation made from plants and the landscape that reveals this full spectrum of the Wetland Garden. Wetlands are full of stories, from unfolding life-cycles, changing levels of water, to the ancient human uses for aquatic plants. Windows on the Floating World will let you feel, touch and connect to these stories. It is a connection that will strengthen visitors’ sense of environmental stewardship and ownership of these wetland ecosystems.
